With most athletic companies it seems that the major engineering and design efforts go into big-ticket items such as tops, bottoms and shoes. Sports bras are often an after thought, with many companies using the same design over and over again and adapting colors and patterns to match the tops, bottoms and shoes. Most women will agree that no matter our size, sports bras are an important part of our athletic wardrobe.
While Moving Comfort does design tops, bottoms and accessories, the majority of its resources go right into its sports bras. For evidence of this, check out their website at Movingcomfort.com. The first category, usually reserved for a company’s standout product, is its sports bras. The site also features an interactive bra finder.
I got a chance to try out three different sports bra styles:

Alexis Printed Bra ($36): This bra was the most fun one I tested. At a cost of only $36, it is also one of the most affordable fashion sports bras I’ve received. The first time I got to wear the Alexis was on my first run on a cruise in the Eastern Caribbean. Normally, I’m not comfortable wearing a sports bra with nothing over it. But on a cruise jogging-path, it was not only appropriate, but also necessary because of the Caribbean heat. The fun design and flattering shape make you feel like you’re wearing a cute bathing suit top without worrying about a lack of support. This is the perfect sports bra if you’re looking to run by the beach (or on a cruise) while only wearing a sports bra and shorts.

There’s this phrase, and a 1994 movie: “Prêt-à-Porter”, which apparently (I don’t speak French) means “Ready to Wear.” I’ve been thinking a lot about this little phrase lately as I get dressed in the mornings, and when I’m cruising around town with Sam. It’s not that I’m so ready to wear; it’s more that I’m ready… to mess up whatever I’m wearing.

Prêt-à-Shorter. These Moving Comfort Trail Shorts are both ready to wear, and ready to run. They look casual, but if I find myself needing to—or just able to—break into a run, I’m ready to go…without feeling like I’m wearing short-short, side-split running shorts. I also love their longer Trail Bermuda shorts.

Moving Comfort Sports Bra *Review*
Remember how I was telling you all about how I lost over 40lbs? Well part of keeping that weight off is getting my butt in to the gym at least three times a week as well as yoga and Pilate’s another two days a week at home combined with eating right. Lately though, my gym routine of weight lifting and cardio became solely cardio in whatever time I have been able to snag between study sessions for the GRE. Since that snaggable time has been minimal at best I have been parking my butt on an elliptical in my gym’s cardio theater (the gym used to be a movie theater and they kept one screen intact and replaced seats with ellipticals, bikes and more ellipticals) to get in a little “getaway” time with a movie – talk about making the best of what you’ve got!

Ladies: if you are a C-DD cup and have ever experienced the frustration of keeping “the girls” under control during high-impact activities, the Fiona sports bra by Moving Comfort will be your new best friend.
It is nearly impossible to find a sports bra that exerts maximum control and does not look and feel like a medieval torture device. Fiona somehow manages to hold everything in its place and look cute to boot. The bra adjusts two ways: at the rear with a three-rowed hook and eye fastener (think regular back-fastening bra,) and on the shoulder straps with Moving Comfort’s signature hook-and-loop system. Best of all, the Fiona does not pinch, poke, prod, or otherwise irritate in one single area.
